Candle Safety

Please follow the advice on the back of the Candle Care Card that is included with your candle purchase, to get the most enjoyment from your candle, safely.

  • Trim your wick to 5mm before every burn.
  • Allow initial burn to last 2-3 hours, or until the melt pool reaches the edge of the vessel, to prevent tunnelling.
  • Do not burn your candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
  • Do not burn your candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
  • Always use a heat resistant holder, and place on a stable, heat resistant surface.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Do not use while you are sleeping.
  • Discontinue use when the wax reaches 5-10mm from the bottom of the vessel to ensure it does not overheat and crack.
  • Never touch or move your candle while it is lit. Vessel may remain hot after flame is extinguished. Allow it to cool first.
  • Keep lit candles away from and out of reach of children and pets.
  • Always burn candles away from other heat sources, flammable materials, draughts, furniture and household sprays that could ignite.
  • Ensure adequate overhead clearance of at least 1 metre.
  • Never extinguish candles with water or liquids.
  • Store your candles and melts in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
